Since 1979 the Clawson 4th of July has organized running races as part of our celebration of our country.
The Freedom Run 5k is held in the evening on the last Sunday of June. The race runs through the neighborhoods surrounding Clawson City Park.
There is also a free 1-mile fun run that evening which runs the woodchipped path in the park.
The $1000 Firecracker Mile precedes the 4th of July Parade down Fourteen-Mile Road.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top 3 men and women with bonuses for sub-4 and sub-4:30 times.
The race starts at Crooks Road and ends at Main Street.
